White clothes are always dingy after wash, why?

I use baking soda to boost whitening, bleach, and hot water. Clothes always come out dingy.White clothes are always dingy after wash, why?
I've recently started to use a product called DR Beckhams Glow white it's fantastic pop it in along with the washing powder and your white will be whiterWhite clothes are always dingy after wash, why?
Hot water makes whites grey - don't go above a 40 wash. Unless you use bleach specially made to whiten clothes it can make whites go creamy or yellow. I don't know about baking soda - I know soda crystals (for cleaning not baking) are great for whites.

I usually do my whites on a 40 with normal washing detergent with something like vanish or soda crystals in the wash and I don't have a problem with them going dingy!
limescale? try a calgon next time.

In the mean time, get a whitener from the supermarket to soak your clothes in- they work to whiten lingerie and smaller white items. You can also buy clothes bleach, not tried it myself but could be worth a look. Dylon make them, and other people like glo-white also.
It could be your water. It could be really hard water with lots of minerals that's making your clothes that way. Try a scoop of Oxy Clean and see if that helps. You can also have your water tested for hardness. Take a sample into Culligan or a local water softener dealer. Good luck!
i found that fabric conditioners do it, if you use a coloured one. i always use a white conditioner and always do a whites only wash, and crystal white can help. i have a lot of white shirts to wash and this always works for me
Sometimes I put on a wash and then turn it off at the plug to let them soak and then turn the machine on again an hour or so later.

I also use a colour catcher it's amazing how dark it gets.
It could be with adding the bleach that's done it try vanish or a pre treatment or power wash. Also the amount of washing powder to lime and chlorine that's in the water persevere
i used to get dingy white clothes when i did not use prewash on washer i always use prewash
best thing for whites is a scoop of oxy clean dont use bleach it can make your clothes yellow
