Ok sounds like a weird question but I was a college student in this state and when I moved out of my dorm I put my dirty clothes in storage. Its been a few years and some of theses clothes are expensive, lets say it is the worst case scenario, they were damp and left in storage for ever. Would it be health wise safe to wash and wear these clothes. Is there a time specific to where clothes sould not be worn... if left dirty perhaps. The clothes I found in storage are very old and dirty is it safe to wash them and wear?
You will never know until you try. If they aren't molded it would be worth a try.. Good Luck! :)The clothes I found in storage are very old and dirty is it safe to wash them and wear?
If your clothes were damp and left in a hot place you could have mildew on them. Mildew it just about impossible to get out. (It looks like dark black spots) Go ahead and try washing them but look at them BEFORE you dry them and if they still look dirty wash them again with a cup of bleach. The heat from the dryer will ';set'; the stain and then it will never come out. Or you could try taking them to a good dry cleaner, ask them if they can help.
The smell on them should be reason enough for you to trow clothes away. Get new ones, unless of curse you are naked and very needed.
I would take them to a laundry mat and launder them there. If they don't stink when they are done, you are safe. Helpful hint, get some 20 Mule team Borax as it will deoderize and help clean the clothes. If that doesn't work, toss them.
Unless bugs or mildew have eaten through the fabrics, just throw them in a washer with soap and hot water, then dry them. You'll be fine.
I would first inspect each item individually, if they have black or grey mold spots on them just throw them out they are ruined, If they are just dirty wash them a couple times in a good detergent and color safe bleach, then recheck them before you dry them once there dried the stains would be set in.
I hope this helped you with your question.
Some of them you might have to dry-clean. But if you have a garden and can hang your clothes outside in the sun then great , Wash them in cold water with a gentle soap , even natural soap bar , soap. If they are white clothes , the sun will bleach them whiter than white for you. If they are of color , turn them inside out before washing , this will stop the sun from fading the color in them , But it will also brighten up your clothes and with the fresh air I don´t see why you can´t wear them again
yes it doesnot matter but wash them in anti bacterila detergent and in mashine wash press 3 rinse after washing the cloth rinse them three times. Its higenic.
have fun
Yes it is safe to use stored clothes as long as they have not been sprayed near with bug sprays or been sprayed by exterminator chemicals, you can restore these clothes with one and a half cups of White Vinegar on the hottest wash clothes can handle full cycle do not add detergent or fabric softners as vinegar will remove stains and soften and disinfect and deodorize remove residues left by detergents and fabric softners if you have mildew stains pretreat with White Vinegar before washing do not dilute vinegar when pretreating leave on for one hour before washing Good Luck !
i would say it is safe to make sure they are fresh i wold use a little bit of extra washing powder and a little bit more softener
