What has caused washing machine to burn clothes?

My boyfriend just went to put on a t-shirt that I washed yesterday. It went into the washing machine then was dried on a clothes horse. We have underfloor heating and no radiators so it was not in contact with any heat elements or direct heat. It has a big burn (similar to an iron burn, but the edges are soft, not crisp like you expect with an iron) The t-shirt has not been ironed though, so the only thing that could have happened was the washing machine has caused it. We've only had the machine 2 years but it was second hand- given to us by a workmate of my brother. It was only about a month ago that the fluff filter was cleaned out- the kitchen sink was giving off a smell so my bf cleaned out the washing machine, exit pipe, sink overflow and u bend. I use an eco wash (40') on every wash. Please help cos I've got a huge pile of washing to do and am scared to use my machineWhat has caused washing machine to burn clothes?
You need to get your machine serviced by a proper washing-machine engineer! Some years ago my mother infuriated my Dad by insisting on ';freshening up'; a new pair of trousers he had only worn for a few hours - they settled down to watch a film on t.v. three hours later when my Mother opened the laundry Room door she saw the machine GLOWING - RED-HOT in the darkness before she switched on the electriclight! The machine had just undergone its annual service and the engineer must have got some wires crossed!; All that was left of the pair of trousers was the metal zipper, a metal hook -and -eye and the fabric that reinforced the waistband! the rest of the fabric had melted or evaporated! If she hadn't checked the Laundry Room when she did the whole place might have burnt down!!What has caused washing machine to burn clothes?
Studying this picture I would say that at the time of burning the shirt was being worn and the wearer was sat down. Possibly driving along, flicked tab end out of window and didn't notice it had blown back in and dropped in his lap. Now he's just winding you up.

Note:- Its only synthetic material that goes hard when scorched.
I honestly don't know of anything in the tub of a wash machine that would get hot enough to burn clothes like that and if it did it would trip the fuse for sure. Theirs got to be another explanation !!!
Rewash that same t-shirt again by itself..Could be some dirt radiated up through the heater vent and it's not burned at all! Or try with some old wash rags and see if it happens again.... That's my best guess :)
Your boyfriend must have damaged it before the wash. If no other clothes were affected, it must have been already damaged before you got your hands on it.
it had to be damaged before you put in the washer as there are no heating elements in a washing machine to burn clothes or heat the water
I Would Get A Plumber Out

But If You Dont Want To Get A New Washing Machine Fast.

I Think Its To Dangerous To Try It.

I Hope This Helps =]
wow...that really is odd!!!
you need to make sure there is water in the washer
