Why is my washing machine bleaching my clothes?

I have had an indesit washing machine for five years and for the past few months it has been leaving bleach stains on a few of my clothes.





It has mostly been quilt covers, pillow cases and sheets. My bed sheets and all lilac, light browns and creams. I also bought a grey and green vest top. The grey one was completely ruined by the machine but the green one was fine.





I do find the odd bleach spot on other items occasionally but on the whole the rest of my washing is fine.





I have tried changing the detergent but that has made difference and i dont think its that anyway. I have stopped washing certain items in there until i get a new machine. My moms friend thinks the thermostat could be faulty and that it is letting boiling hot water out onto certain part of my clothes.





I have never used bleach in my machine and nor does anyone else so its definitely not that. Does anyone have any ideas?Why is my washing machine bleaching my clothes?

u kno,... my cousin had the same problem. she would wash her clothes and all of them would leave big bleach spots on them. i think that the problem was the detergent wasnt suitable for the machine but im not exactly sure why this happend. Hope at least some of my advice helped! lol
Use liquid detergents. Don't overstuff your washer loads as this prevents sufficient amounts of water to circulate between garments washing and rinsing them effectively.





Buy a washing machine cleaner and run it through the cycle. This should remove residue from your washer.
Be sure to fill your washer with water, mix in the detergent and agitate a few seconds before adding clothes. Sometimes putting the detergent on the clothes will cause spots. Use warm not hot water also.
And the washing powder/detergent you are using is.......????????
check if your top floor neighbour is using bleach and not rinsing properly their laundry when hanging to dry.
