How can i get the mildewy smell out of my clothes, towels, and washing machine?

My kids sometimes leave clothes in the washer. I try telling them not to wash anything if they can't be there to put it in the dryer. Unfortunately it often falls on deaf ears. With my work schedule I have to rely on their help.





I hate getting out of the shower only to find out the towel I 'sniffed' before the shower does in fact smell mildewy. They just need to be wet before they smell. But the clothes don't. They smell even worse than the towels. But if I use a smelly towel I can't get the stink off my body. I don't want to stink at work (or anywhere).





We used to dry the clothes then rewash them, but that doesn't seem to work anymore. I am desperate. I can't take the smell. It is starting to make me gag now. Please help.How can i get the mildewy smell out of my clothes, towels, and washing machine?
run your washer on empty (full load cycle) with bleach to get the smell out first. Then rewash your clothes and add a cup of viniger to the wash along with your regular washing detergent. It should get the smell out. :)How can i get the mildewy smell out of my clothes, towels, and washing machine?
You need to run the cycle with only water and some bleach and detergent.





I would separate MY clothes and let the kids wash their own clothes so their own clothes get smelly. A few time of that and they should start paying attention. Meanwhile, wash your own clothes away from theirs.





The other thing is to check the washer EVERYDAY and make sure YOUR clothes and towels aren't in there. The washed clothes have to be sitting in there for days in order to get smelly.
I sometimes get lazy about laundry and the same thing happens to me. First clean the washer real good by running an empty cycle with hot water and bleach. For the clothes, all you really need to do is add 1/2 to 1 cup vinegar(depending on load size) to the RINSE cycle to get the smell out of clothes.

Maybe ask ur kids 2 run the washing machine w/nothing n it but soap 2 get the smell out. Then 2 ensure ur clothes and towels stop smelling bad reward ur kids 4 there help but only give it 2 them 4 a job well done. Also 2 make sure it's all done rite give the reward 2 all ur children, if they don't do a good job (but 1 claims 2 have still done their job rite) don't give the reward 2 any of them. Let them kno that they all need 2 do a good job or no1 is rewarded. That's all I kno that could help! Hope it works. =)
