When to wash the baby clothes? 29 weeks now?

hi there, im done with my baby clothes shopping and i just have to buy a couple of towels and baby sheets to wrap the baby. im almost 29 weeks pregnant just another day short of it. i was wondering when to start washing the baby clothes. i have only been putting them away after buying them. also do u wash mittens and socks as well? thanks alot. When to wash the baby clothes? 29 weeks now?
I washed everything when my ';nesting'; instinct kicked in. Which for me was 36 weeks. Both my kids came a little over a week later. Good luck!

I liked what a previous poster said about not washing everything. Baby could be really big and you might end up returning some clothes...When to wash the baby clothes? 29 weeks now?
I had preterm labor contractions at 20 weeks so I wanted to be prepared just in case. I ended up washing the clothes at 28 weeks only so my mother in law and I could have fun folding the tiny clothes. I have had 2 or 3 ultrasounds that showed a penis but I still get nervous about washing all the boy clothes. I washed all the neutral clothing and socks plus 3 boy outfits for the hospital. I also washed all nuetral towels and blankies. If you do wash them now do not wash more than a couple gender specific items so you dont have to get stuck with clothes you wont use. Also I washed anything that would come into contact with babies skin just to be sure it didnt have any dirt or chemical debris on it from the stores. Congrats!
Honestly, there's no reason to wash everything now. If baby is huge, or an unexpected gender, you would have dozens of outfits that you can't return or exchange.

So wash a few outfits now (or anytime in the next 3 months). Leave the rest with tags on. After baby comes home from the hospital, someone (you, or hubby, or grandma) can toss the rest of it in the laundry. Baby clothes are tiny, so everything you own won't even make up one load. (And you'd want to wash everything that touches baby's skin before putting it on.)
I started washing the unisex clothes aroungd week 32 it was called nesting when a women goes through the house cleaning everything but when i washed my babies clothes i just put the in the drawers and laid a blanket over them and they were ready for when the baby come home but yes i would wash everything that touches the babies skin dreft is good to use and i always doubled rinse the babies clothes
I washed all of my sons clothing and other items about 2 weeks before my EDD.
I washed everything before I put it away I don't think it matters but I would say wait a little longer only because you want everything to be freshly cleaned when you put it on your little one.

Good Luck
I wash everything, and i think you can wash them all as soon as you feel like it. They're not going to get dirty sitting in drawers.
You can wash everything now or wait until it gets closer to you're due date. Dreft is a good detergent to use
well i have star washing all my litter one clothes and i am 29 week now that way you are really staring to get aver thing in oder for the baby
