If your clothes are half white and half dark, do you wash them with the colours or the whites?

I have some boxer shorts which are half white and half navy blue - do i wash them with the whites or the colours? Also i have some other boxer shorts which are white but have a coloured band across the top - these go with whites yeah?If your clothes are half white and half dark, do you wash them with the colours or the whites?
Personally I rarely sort my clothes. I have nothing really bright that might bleed so i just toss everything in together never have problems. If your clothes are half white and half dark, do you wash them with the colours or the whites?
If there is substantial color you wouldn't want to wash with whites, You seem to have it down pretty well.
I would wash these items together and add some more lighter colored clothing that you are sure won't run to make it a full load. I always separate my clothes into 3 loads...whites, darks and light colors. If you are worried about the white parts getting stained by the darker part you can also wash it by hand in the sink and throw it in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet and you'll never be able to tell the difference.
It depends - would you be more upset if the white part on your shorts started looking less white, or if the whites you'd be washing the shorts with started looking dirty from the dark blue? If you don't care about the shorts, then they become the best category of laundry ';wash in whatever load has room';. A lot of my old clothes and my pajamas are in that category.
