Weird question: How do you STOP permanent marker from coming out of clothes in the wash?

my friends and i did relay for life and we drew coloured pictures with perm. markers all over our white 100% cotton shirts. We don't want the colour to come out in the wash. Can anyone help ? Someone suggested hairspray, but i don't know if it'll work ....Weird question: How do you STOP permanent marker from coming out of clothes in the wash?
Wash by hand only in cold water using a very mild detergent like Woolite or Dreft.








It will stay. Putting it in the dryer will also set it in.


Being it is 100% cotton, remember it will shrink unless it has beeen preshrunk.

Why is it that if you accidentally get marker on your clothes it will never come out but if you want it to stay in - like names in childrens clothes and your situation you can guarantee it will wash out. I suggest a non bio detergent on a very low wash but can't make any promises.
They will wash out, water and time have a way of erasing everything.





So it's best that you save the shirt (put it in a plastic clothing bag) for future memories, instead.
Im not sure about no hairspray. All I can say is hand wash it. If that doesn't work you may need to go over the shirt again. But the next time use fabric markers.
